Dynamic job market – more and more commuters
The 2000 census turned out that the number of commuters is quite high, although even more commuters come here than leave Baar to work elsewhere. Most employees commute between Baar and other communities in the Canton of Zug, Lucerne or Zurich.

According to the 2008 survey 18,059 people worked in Baar while Baar had 21,524 inhabitants. It is evident in these figures that Baar benefits from an excellent offer of jobs. Obviously mobility also plays a major role. It is becoming ever rarer to work and live in the same place.
